How are you planning your retirement? Comprehensive or concentrated?

There are two approaches to investment plans, the first type of investor has a disciplined pattern whilst the latter just aims to secure his home and retirement plans.  One believes in allocating his capital in equally segregated goals and investments. The other focuses only on his retirement plans along with home investments. The former uses various financial instruments and believes it will help him in achieving his desired goals. The other focuses on a concentrated investment plan for his retirement.  Understand the difference below:

Focusing on broader aspects

How are you planning your retirement?

There are two kinds of investors, the first believes in using his financial gains to achieve all his goals. He sets short term goals as well as long term goals and aims to achieve benefits for all with researched investments and systematic structure. He sets his goals early and therefore focuses on multiple areas that he wishes to achieve while climbing the ladder. Since his home and retirement investments are lesser, he has to be well equipped with the sound knowledge of the market to help allot his investment perfectly to get higher returns. He however needs to have an understanding of the changing financial expenses and dip in income. This investor can be explained with the example of a film critic who believes in paying attention to the minute details of a film, such as the direction, screenplay, dialogues, sound etc.

Focusing on the big picture

The second type of investor focuses entirely on his retirement plan. This type of investor holds his retirement investment more important than other goals. Short term goals can be achieved over time but this investor has his individual focus on home and retirement. He patiently waits for his long term returns while dedicatedly allocating his funds in his retirement and home plans.  A disciplined approach can help the investor yield benefits later. An investor with this behavior can be explained by an example of a person who prefers to read just the contents and summary of a book to get an overview.
