More focus on knowledge and less on tips? How do you invest?

Investors have to be cautious when they invest in Mutual Funds. Having thorough knowledge about the scheme they’re investing in enables the investor to take wise decisions and create wealth soundly. Usually investors don’t rely entirely on the size of their investments or the allocation of their assets, but on the knowledge they have or the tips they follow to manage their investments. Read on to know the two kinds of investors;

Investor who invests as per their knowledge and research

In accordance to the chart given above, an investor of the first kind pays heed on knowledge, and the research done by him over the years. This investor applies his skill when it comes to investing and allocating assets. Also, when it comes to managing his portfolio he doesn’t shuffle it too often because his foresight strongly recommends him to check his portfolio once a year or two years. Usually investors, who follow this pattern, make suitable and safe decisions. Of course, they consult financial advisors and seek their advice, but they also have a clear comprehension of their own. They give little room to outside tips and suggestions.

Investor who gives tips and advice more space

As per the chart, the second kind of investor focuses mainly on the tips he receives from other investors or some random news that comes across to him. This investor could be a novice to investing or extra conscious about his investments. He takes almost every ones advice for investing, but doesn’t much research, and has very little knowledge of his own. Now not every investor with this behaviour, but many can face the demerits of this pattern, because quite often, these opinions can also be rumours that can end up in being wrong decisions. For investors of this category, it is advisable that they should also do a bit of research from their own end and since they’ve been following a pattern of paying attention to tips and advice; they should seek expert advice, i.e. suggestions from financial advisors or consultants who can give a better insight on investing.
