Sankaranarayanan Krishnan heads quantitative investing at Motilal Oswal Asset Management Company, managing PMS and AIF schemes using quantitative approaches. Most recently, he was Co-Head of Investments at True Beacon, overseeing the investment management function across PMS, AIF and offshore vehicles running asset allocation, long-only, long-short and absolute return mandates. Previously, he was founding team member and Head of Quantitative Strategies at proprietary trading firm, Magma Ventures, trading directional and market-neutral long-short books. In an earlier stint at Motilal Oswal Asset Management Company he started the firm’s domestic hedge fund business, and launched India’s first tail-risk protected quantitative AIF. He has also managed India-focused systematic equity portfolios at Alpha Alternatives, one of India’s largest alternative asset managers. He started his career on the sell-side, researching multi-factor and ESG strategies for global asset owners at Morgan Stanley Capital International, and was a founding team member at sell-side start-up Indxx, building quantitative and thematic strategies for ETF clients.
